Things to see & Do

The Experience

Bring your sketching tools, the latest book to read in the conservatory, and the field binoculars for the extensive bird wildlife including regular visits from the local wedgetailed eagles. Buttons Cottage and Gaunts Homestead are separated by the ever changing and cascading Castra Rivulet just minutes from your door as well as a number of enchanting downstream waterfalls - Silver & Step Falls.

The four season's weather is a treat with long summer evenings and wonderful winter mornings fit for the photographer's tools of trade capturing the vivid blues and greens. Spring brings the welcome of new life and hope with baby lambs and calves. Listen to the bulls roar or watch the industrious birdlife through the eyes of the wrens and swallows who return annually from their international pilgrimage.
Reflect on the bridges and ponder the wonder of it all. Whatever season chosen to visit there are many enriching and challenging experiences offered at Button's Cottage, the region and Tasmania.
